Костел Святого Владислава

The Church of St. Vladislav in Subotniki village

The complex of the Church of St. Vladislav is an architectural monument in the neo-Gothic style.  Only local materials were used for the building construction. This is the only temple in Belarus, which is consecrated in honor of St. Vladislav.
Three-aisled basilica in the neo-Gothic style was built in 1904-1907 at Counts Vladislav and Yanina Umyastovsky’s expense in the place of an old wooden church.
The church fascinates from afar with its graceful silhouette graphics: a tall three-tiered belfry is expressively drawn on the sky background with a thinned spire. The gate looks the same “prickly”, which is built into the fence with chapels that follow each other regularly.
The church of Subbotniki is interesting for the family tomb, which has been preserved untouched. The first person who was buried here was the founder of the temple, Vladislav Umyastovsky. Then the remains of his long-dead relatives were brought there. This is reported in detail by a memorial plaque, which was installed in the crypt of the temple in 1931.  To the honor of the parishioners, it is kept in exemplary order: amazing cleanliness, marble slabs with names and dates shining with polished facets.  On the tombstone of Yanina, there is neither name nor date as she died far from the family seat – in Rome.
In 2016 was the status of a historical and cultural value assigned.
