Church of the Mother of God the Miraculous in the village Dudy
A Catholic parish and a wooden church of Mary in Dudy existed already at the beginning of the 17th century. In 1608 it was renovated at the expense of the owner of the village Jan-Karol Chodkiewicz, the governor of Vilna. In 1770 the old church burned down. In 1772, the owner of the village Geranim Zenkovich with his wife Barbara built a new wooden church in the late Baroque style, with a main altar in honor of the Holy Virgin Mary and St. Josepha. A few years later, the church was consecrated in honor of the Most Holy Virgin Mary.
At the end of the 18th century a two-level wooden bell tower was built next to the church. Next to the church is the old village cemetery.
In the 50s of the XX century in connection with the anti-religious policy, the authorities decided to convert the building into a warehouse. In 1983 the church in the village Dudy was returned to the Catholic parish. Partial restoration of the temple was carried out in 1990.
In 2007, the unique monument of wooden architecture in Belarus, the Church of Mary, was given the status of historical and cultural value.
