Церковь Святого великомученика Гавриила Белостокского, Слуцкого

Church of the Holy Martyr Infant Gabriel of Bialystok, Slutsk in Ivye

The church is located in a building that was a residential building at the beginning of the XX century, after the Great Patriotic War – a maternity hospital, and after the 1970s – a kindergarten.
In 1993 the local authorities transmitted the building to Orthodox believers for the future church. The first stones in the foundation of the revived faith were laid by the priest Anatoly Rezanovich. He was supported in his holy work by the authorities, ordinary people, and those who were able to make a serious contribution to the cause of God.
In 1995 the church was visited by His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexis II.
There is an icon in the church that flew around the earth for 112 times in 10 days. In 2004 they sent an unusual luggage with the expedition to the International Space Station: 60 icon of the Kazan Mother of God in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Victory.
The icon was presented to the church by Viktor Shutov, a native of Ivye, who is an employee of the Russian Space Agency at present.
