
The St. Symon and Yuda-Tadeush Church in Lazduny
The catholic church is located in the agro-town of Lazduny in Ivye district of Grodno region. According to the official sources it was erected between 1904 and 1910. And it is located in the center of agro-town Lazduny.
In fact the church has been functioning since 1744 as a part of Subotniki parish. But times have changed and a new wooden building was built in 1859. It was also rebuilt between 1904 and 1910.
The bricks and rubble stones were the materials for the construction of the renovated church. The two tiered towers are crowned with high tents, and a triangular shield is placed between these towers. All the doorways of the church and the openings of the towers have semi-circular endings. The architecture of the church is in a pseudo-Romanesque style. There are many decorative details such as a brick strip and pilasters, cristal chandeliers, ceiling painting inside the church. There are choirs above the main entrance and cylindrical vaults inside the construction. The church is spacious and has more than a dozen rows of benches for parishioners.
